Northbridge Partners

Discretionary and advisory portfolio management for private clients — with a client app that shows you where you stand, whenever you look.

A firm you can reach without an appointment

Most questions a client has about their money are small ones. What did the quarter do. Has the transfer landed. Which document did I sign in March. Those questions used to cost a phone call and half a day of waiting for a call back, and often the client simply did not ask.

Northbridge Partners was built around removing that friction without removing the person. The advisory work is unchanged: a mandate agreed in writing, a strategy that is reviewed rather than re-invented, and one adviser who knows the account. What changed is access. Every client of the firm receives an account in the Northbridge client app, where the portfolio, the paperwork and the adviser are all one tap apart.

The app does not replace the review meeting. It makes the meeting shorter, because nobody arrives needing to be told what happened.

What clients do in the app

Portfolio performance

Holdings, allocation and return over the periods that matter, with contributions and withdrawals separated out so growth is not flattered by deposits.

Statements and documents

Every statement, contract note and tax pack in one archive, searchable by period and downloadable as PDF when your accountant asks for it.

Message your adviser

A secure thread with the person who handles your mandate — not a ticket queue, not a shared inbox. Attachments stay inside the app.

Market updates and alerts

Short notes from the investment desk when something moves that touches your strategy, plus alerts you set yourself on the positions you watch.

Review and approve transactions

Proposed trades and instructions arrive with the rationale attached. You read, you approve or you decline, and the decision is recorded against the account.

Client services

What clients come to us for, and what each engagement includes. Terms are set out in your mandate before anything is invested.

Most common

Discretionary management

  • Written investment mandate
  • Rebalancing handled by the desk

Advisory portfolio

Nothing moves without you. Proposals arrive with the reasoning, and you approve them in the app.

  • Decisions logged against the account
  • Scheduled strategy reviews

Retirement and income planning

Structuring what the portfolio pays out, and in what order, once it has to fund a life rather than grow.

  • Drawdown and income modelling
  • Cash buffer planning
  • Annual plan revision
  • Documents shared through the app

Family and trust accounts

Linked accounts across a family or a trust, with access rights set per person.

  • Linked account switching
  • Per-person access permissions
  • Consolidated reporting view
  • Trustee document archive

Capital is at risk and the value of investments can fall as well as rise. Services are offered to clients of the firm following a suitability assessment.

How a relationship begins

  1. Your enquiry

Send the form at the bottom of this page with a line about what you would like to discuss. It goes to the adviser who would take the conversation, not to a call centre.

  2. Introductory conversation

An unhurried discussion of what you hold, what it is for and when you expect to need it. No proposal is written at this stage and nothing is charged for it.

  3. Written proposal and mandate

If the fit is right, you receive a proposed strategy, the fee basis and the mandate in writing. You read it in your own time and ask whatever you want before signing.

  4. Account opening and app access

Once the account is funded, your client app credentials are issued. Your first performance view and your adviser thread are live from that day.

How the app treats your account

An investment app is only useful if a client is comfortable opening it on a train. The Northbridge app is built on that assumption.

Sign-in uses your device biometrics or passcode, and sessions close themselves when the app goes into the background. Messages with your adviser stay inside the app rather than travelling by ordinary email, and documents are read in place instead of being scattered across attachments. Anything that changes the account — an instruction, an approval, a change of details — is confirmed explicitly by you and recorded with a timestamp, so there is always a plain answer to who agreed to this, and when.

Viewing is one thing and acting is another. Looking at your portfolio asks nothing of you; approving a transaction asks you to confirm again. That separation is deliberate, and we would rather it cost a client three extra seconds than one wrong tap.

Speak to an adviser

Tell us how to reach you and what you would like to discuss. There is no obligation and no charge for the first conversation.

  • An adviser reads your enquiry personally — it is not routed to a sales team.
  • You will be contacted shortly to arrange a convenient time.
  • The first call is a conversation, not a proposal: bring questions rather than paperwork.
